The U23 Magic include players returning from college to continue their training and conditioning through the summer in preparation for their college pre-season. The men compete in the Mid-Atlantic Summer Showcase League (MSSL).
Mid-Atlantic Summer Showcase League (MSSL)
MSSL is a regional summer soccer league that is fully sanctioned by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA), the national governing body for adult amateur soccer. MSSL was designed for collegiate players under the age of 23. Teams will primarily play within their division (U-20 or U-23).
A subset of players from the U23 team, who are age appropriate, are also playing in the U19 NJYS National Championship Series.

U23 Magic Schedule:
- Training twice per week between mid-May and the end of July
- Play 10 to 15 games, mostly on Sundays. Teams play two seventy-minute games on game day.
- The team plays in the NJYS National Championship Bracket for State Cup.
Coaching Staff:
The team is trained and coached by Anson Smith.
Anson Smith, founder and technical director of SoccerSmith, and Head Coach for the Hunterdon Central Boy’s Varsity Soccer Team, will be coaching the U-23 MAPS team this summer. Anson has served as a trainer and coach for numerous teams at the youth, high school, and college levels in New England and the Mid-Atlantic Region for over 10 years. Anson played for Wheaton College (MA) where as Captain he led the team to its first NCAA tournament appearance, and was selected to the Scholastic All-ECAC team and the New England Interscholastic Soccer League All-Star Team. After college Anson played Professional Indoor Soccer for the Massachusetts Habcats of the Arena Soccer League. Coach Smith currently holds the NSCAA "National Diploma" and USSF "D" License.
